for everyday cooking.
1.
Plan in
advance – Be away from stress by planning your preparations a day or night
before. You will know exactly what you need to keep ready, like vegetables and
spices and you can buy them and plan accordingly.
2.
Storing
spices – Light, heat and moisture will cause herbs and spices to lose their
flavor, so store them in a cool and a dark place and not near the hob or stove.
3.
Cooking
Pasta/ Noodles – Cook the pasta or noodles a minute less than suggested on
the pack and then cook the rest again with sauce/veggies. This way you don’t
overcook the pasta or noodles and prevent them from becoming soggy and
paste-like.
4.
Chopped
Vegetables – Chop and stock vegetables like carrots/green peas etc. in good
quantities and store them in freezer in freezer safe containers or zip lock covers.
So, whenever you need to make a quick soup or boil veggies, you are ready in a
jiffy!
5.
Garlic odor
- To remove the garlic odor from your hands, after working with them, it is
suggested that you rub your hands vigorously on the stainless steel sink and
then wash off your hands.
6.
Special
cooking – Always remember never to try a new recipe or a new ingredient
when you are cooking for an important lunch/dinner.
7.
Deep
frying – Hold the piece to be deep-fried with a long tongs, inside the oil
pan for atleast five seconds before you release it into the oil. This will
harden the exterior and stop it from sticking to the pan and other food.
8.
Chopping
herbs – Add a little salt on the chopping board before you chop herbs, this
stops them from flying around!
9.
Flavorful
Sandwich – Make sure you spread the cheese/mayonnaise at the corners of the
bread first and then spread it to the centre, this way, the two slices will
stick to each other neatly and every bite will be flavorful.
10.
Add love
– The secret ingredient to every recipe is cooking with heart and soul. So,
don’t forget to take your time to read each recipe fully and then start
cooking. You may not be able to master a recipe the very first time, practice
will make you perfect.
