Décor Ideas for
Kids bedroom:
Your child’s room is not just a place for him to sleep, but
it is much more than that. It is a world of his own. A place where lives,
grows, creates, identifies his talents and learns to share with his friends and
siblings. You being the parent would discover all this slowly and gradually as
your child grows, so an efficient planning is required when you are
constructing your dream home or your futuristic Condos. Here are a few things
you can keep in mind while designing your child’s room:
1) Gender:
Pinks for girls and Blues for boys..!! Keep the gender
of the child in mind before designing a child’s room, getting the wall color
perfect for your child is essential. You can choose from a variety of shades of
Pinks – Cherry Blossom Pink, Apricot, French Rose, Lavender, Lilac, Misty Rose,
Plum, Puce or even Orchid. The shades of Blue like – Sky Blue, Sapphire, Powder
Blue, Denim, Cyan, Cobalt, Blue-Green or even aquamarine are the perfect colors
to choose to color your boy’s room.
2) Height:
A child will grow up to be
organized only if it starts practicing the same during his childhood. Storage
spaces, wardrobes, writing table and chairs, bookshelves should be at their
height. They rooms should be designed ideally so that the children become
independent and learn to do their own jobs – be it cleaning their shelves,
folding their clothes, rearranging their toys or doing their daily homework.
3) Lighting:
Your child’s room needs ample
lighting which is encouraging for the child to do his daily activities. A dull
lit room can restrict a child’s curiousness to learn and result in him getting
scared about a lot of things. The child’s study table should be well lit. Beautiful,
decorative and affordable lamps are available in most of the city malls; don’t
forget to include them in your monthly shopping list…!!
4) Bed/
Bedding:
Make sure that you choose the right
size of bed and the mattress for your child. A good night’s sleep is the first
step to an energetic day. There is an abundance of choice to select – ranging
from a McQueen Car bed to a Spiderman or a Superman bed for your little heroes and
likewise a Barbie Princess bed or a Tinker Bell
or a Dora bed for your little princess. In case of space constraints use
Bunker beds for siblings who share the room.
5) Art/Craft
Zone:
It is recommended that you leave a
part of the wall in your child’s room to use it for his own creation. Encourage
him to paint, use crayons, add glitter and make craft to decorate his room. You
could also paint a part of the room with chalkboard paint which can used to
write on with chalks.
6) Decoration:
Make use of handy decorative things
like temporary wall tattoos – which can be peeled off at a later stage if
required. Tattoos which glow at night are ideal which encourages the children
to sleep in their rooms at night.
7) Display
Boards:
Your child’s interest in art and craft needs to be
encouraged. Get your customized display boards for your child’s room in order
to display his work or his favorite collections of his superstars, cartoon
characters or even role models.
You can be creative in your own way, since you know
your child the best. Begin by noting down what are the likes and dislikes of
your child and start creating, the list of possibilities is endless. For any
